Description
The "IMPACT" series from Gefran consists of pressure transmitters that operate without transmission fluid, designed for high-temperature environments up to 350°C. Medium pressure is directly applied to a sensitive silicon element through a thick diaphragm. The strain is measured by a micro-machined silicon structure (MEMS) using the piezoresistive principle. The microstructure includes both the measurement membrane and piezoresistors. The minimal deflection required by the sensitive element allows for very robust mechanical construction. The process contact membrane can be up to 15 times thicker than those used in traditional Melt sensors.
Applications:
- Ideal for mercury-free, food, and medical applications due to the absolute absence of filling fluid.
- Superior wear resistance, suitable for use with filled polymers.
- High resistance to dynamic pressure.
- Excellent robustness against process conditions such as cold starts and multiple installations.
- Low thermal drift for zero and span signals: <1% FS (20°C–350°C).
- Pressure ranges: 0–100 to 0–1000 bar / 0–1500 to 0–15000 psi.
- Accuracy: < ±0.25% FSO (H); < ±0.5% FSO (M).
- Standard threading: 1/2-20UNF, M18x1.5; other versions available on request.
- Alternative diaphragm types available on request.
- Autozero function available onboard or as an external option.
- 15-5 PH stainless steel diaphragm with GTP coating.
