Description

W212 Power Controllers (1 kW to 400 kW)

The Wattcor W212 series offers a versatile range of solid-state power controllers for resistive loads, featuring “zero-crossing” switching with current ratings up to 600A and nominal voltages of 660Vac.
These controllers accept analog or logic input signals in volts, milliamperes, or from a potentiometer.
The cycle time used for power modulation can be directly adjusted on the W212 using an onboard trimmer in relation to the input analog signal.
For three-phase load control, a W212 can function as the master controller, while one or more W211 units operate as slaves.
Each W212 is equipped with a logic input to disable the power controller or disconnect the load supply when required.
Advanced options are available for demanding applications. The RPC option monitors and signals partial load failures with a front-panel LED and relay output. The DTC option provides SCR diagnostics and detects full load current failure.
The DE option (“Electronic Cut-off”) safeguards the controller against temporary overcurrent events exceeding approximately 13 times the nominal current. When triggered, the power supply is disabled, the alarm relay (shared with RPC) is activated, and manual reset is possible via the front pushbutton.
The W212 series maintains rated performance at ambient temperatures up to 50°C and operates reliably from -5°C to 60°C.
Models rated at 250A and 600A come with an internal fuse and digital output for monitoring fuse status.
Signal connections are provided via plug-in connectors for easy installation. Depending on the current rating, units can be mounted on a DIN rail or directly on the panel (panel mounting for 250A and above).
