Description

3500 Configurable Program-Controllers

The 3500 series are microprocessor-based setpoint programmers and controllers in 48×96 mm and 96×96 mm formats (1/8 DIN and 1/4 DIN).
Built using SMT technology, they provide a complete operator interface with IP54 protection (IP65 achievable with faceplate cover).
The faceplate includes a 6-key membrane keypad and a backlit LCD display, with larger display available on model 4500. The display shows process variables, setpoints, output percentage bargraphs, deviations, and alarm and controller status indicators.
The main input is universal, supporting thermocouples, resistance thermometers, mV signals, or custom linearized inputs. A secondary optional analogue input allows remote setpoint, potentiometer valve position feedback, or current transformer connection.
Digital inputs allow selection between two preset setpoints or switching between local and remote setpoint. Three isolated digital inputs provide start, stop, and reset signals. Model 4500 additionally provides eight isolated programmable digital inputs for program stepping and enabling.
Up to four outputs are available, factory-configured as relay, isolated logic, isolated analogue, or interface for MD81/MD8 expansion units. Output functions can be configured directly from the faceplate.
Outputs can manage heat/cool control with independent PID, alarm signaling, motorized valve control (with/without position feedback), retransmission of measured variables, setpoints, deviations, or control of MD8 expansion unit for extra alarms or programmable event outputs. Model 4500 provides eight additional freely programmable digital outputs per program step.
The 3500/4500 series support up to 100 steps (ramps and holds), grouped into 50 programs. Programmers can operate cyclically, with configurable time bases from seconds to days, software alarms, and four modes for restart after power loss.
Serial communication options include Current Loop, RS232, or RS422/485, with selectable GEFRAN CENCAL or MODBUS protocol, providing full read/write access to instrument parameters.
The menu-guided programming interface ensures rapid and intuitive configuration.
