Description

4400 Configurable Controllers

The 4400 series are microprocessor-based controllers in 48×96 mm and 96×96 mm formats (1/8 DIN and 1/4 DIN).
Built using SMT technology, these controllers provide a full operator interface with IP54 protection (IP65 achievable with faceplate cover).
The faceplate includes a 6-key membrane keypad and a backlit LCD display. The 4400’s larger display shows process variables, setpoints, output percentage bargraphs, deviations, and alarm and controller status indicators.
The main input supports a wide range of sensors including thermocouples, resistance thermometers, or mV signals, with custom linearization. A secondary analogue input allows remote setpoint, potentiometer valve position feedback, or current transformer connection.
Digital inputs can select between two preset setpoints or switch between local and remote control. Three isolated digital inputs allow selection of one of four setpoint programs, start/stop/reset commands, or local/remote, auto/manual, and hold modes.
Up to four outputs are available, factory-configured as relay, isolated logic, isolated analogue, or interface for MD81/MD8 expansion units. Outputs are configurable directly from the faceplate.
Outputs may manage heat/cool control with independent PID, alarm signaling, motorized valve operation (with/without position feedback), retransmission of measured variables, setpoints, deviations, or control of the MD8 expansion unit for additional alarms.
The 3400/4400 series can also act as setpoint programmers with up to 8 segments (4 ramps and 4 holds). Additional features include ratio control between variables and cascade control with fully configurable parameters.
Serial communication options include Current Loop, RS232, or RS485, allowing full read/write access to all instrument parameters. The menu-guided interface simplifies programming and ensures rapid, intuitive configuration.
