Description

The IMPACT series from Gefran consists of high-temperature pressure transmitters that operate without any transmission fluid, suitable for environments up to 350°C.
Pressure is applied directly to a silicon sensing element via a robust diaphragm. The strain is detected by a micro-machined silicon structure (MEMS) using the piezoresistive principle.
The IMPACT series is Gefran’s specialized line of high-temperature sensors based on piezoresistive technology.
A key advantage of these sensors is the absence of any transmission fluid. The silicon sensing element is positioned immediately behind the process contact membrane and is manufactured using precise microfabrication techniques.
The microstructure combines both the sensing membrane and piezoresistors. Minimal deflection of the sensitive element allows the sensor to employ extremely durable mechanics.
The contact membrane can be up to 15 times thicker than that used in conventional melt pressure sensors.
  • Pressure ranges: 0–100 to 0–1000 bar / 0–1500 to 0–15000 psi
  • Accuracy: < ±0.25% FSO (High); < ±0.5% FSO (Medium)
  • Threading: Standard 1/2-20 UNF, M18x1.5; custom versions available on request
  • Optional diaphragm types available on request
  • Autozero function: available on-board or externally
  • 15-5 PH stainless steel diaphragm with GTP coating
