Description

KE NaK-Filled Melt Pressure Transmitters – K3 Series

The K3 Series pressure sensors are designed for high-temperature applications where process temperatures may reach 538 °C (1000 °F), such as high-temperature engineered polymers. Utilizing standard melt pressure principles, the sensors feature bonded foil strain gage technology and a near-incompressible NaK (Sodium-Potassium) hydraulic transmission medium, recognized as a safe (GRAS) FDA-approved substance.

Applications

  • FDA-compliant processes (mercury-free, food, and medical applications)
  • Processing of special polymers and technopolymers at high temperatures (up to 538 °C / 1000 °F)

Specifications

  • Pressure Ranges: 0–35 to 0–1000 bar / 0–500 to 0–15000 psi
  • Accuracy: < ±0.25% FSO (High); < ±0.5% FSO (Medium)
  • Hydraulic Transmission: NaK ensures stable pressure readings at working temperature; RoHS compliant
  • NaK Volume per Model: KE0 – 30 mm³ (0.00183 in³); KE1, KE2, KE3 – 40 mm³ (0.00244 in³)
  • Threading: 1/2-20 UNF, M18x1.5 (other types available on request)
  • Calibration: Auto-zero function onboard or external option
  • Stem Drift Compensation: SP version includes automatic compensation
  • Diaphragm Materials & Temperature Ratings:
    • Inconel 718 with GTP coating – up to 538 °C (1000 °F)
    • 15-5 PH with GTP coating – up to 400 °C (750 °F)
    • Hastelloy C276 – up to 300 °C (570 °F)
    • 17-7 PH corrugated with GTP coating – for ranges below 100 bar / 1500 psi
